As I have been noticing the seasonal changes and the promise of spring over the last week or two, it felt like the right time to come out of hibernation. Having a pause over winter was important - a time to rest, a time to reflect and a time to regather.
During this time I have thought a lot about what I am doing and why I am doing it. I found that I have missed Thankful Thursday. I realised that this regular online practice helps me to look, observe and notice the wonderful gifts that God has given me. It helps me to be a joy hunter - to be present to the world around me.
You have helped me to stay accountable, to maintain the habit of giving thanks. I also hope that it may act as a small reminder for you to pause, slow down and look around for all the things you are grateful for.
Psalm 9:1 "I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds."
Today I give thanks to God for all the signs that spring is around the corner: Buckland St turning pink, the waft of perfume as I pass a broom tree on my morning walk, four little plover chicks frolicking on the golf course, new leaves unfurling, bushes covered in buds, jacaranda leaves turning yellow, a vase of daffodils and doors open wide filling the house with fresh air.
What changes have you noticed?
Hello! My name is Margy. I enjoy living simply, I am trying to slow down and I am learning how to be still. I would love you to join me on this exciting adventure.
